American soprano Lielle Berman hails from Old Greenwich CT and received her Master of Music degree at Yale University School of Music.

A versatile performer, Ms. Berman has sung across the US and Europe in repertoire ranging from the Baroque to contemporary and everything in between. Highlights of her career include Cunegonde in Candide with the New York City Opera and the Orchestra Sinfonica di Milano; Despina in Così fan tutte with Indianapolis Opera; the Second Niece in Peter Grimes with the Opéra National de Paris; Lucia in Lucia di Lammermoor, Sophie in Werther and Tatyana in Eugene Onegin with the Pittsburgh Opera. As a member of the Lyric Opera Center at the Lyric Opera of Chicago, she performed and covered numerous roles, including Nannetta in Falstaff, Adele in Die Fledermaus, Frasquita in Carmen, Daisy Buchanan in The Great Gatsby, and the Queen of the Night in Die Zauberflöte.

Ms. Berman has appeared in concert with the New York City Opera Orchestra, the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, the Ravinia Festival Orchestra, the Tuscaloosa Symphony, the New Haven Symphony Orchestra, the Festival de Musique de St. Barth, and the Colorado Symphony Orchestra. In 2006, she was a semi-finalist in the Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions.

As a teacher and coach, Ms. Berman has served on the faculty of the Naugatuck Valley Community College in Waterbury and the Ensign-Darling Vocal Fellowship program in Hartford, and ran private voice studios in New Haven, Westchester, and New York. She is the soprano soloist at St. Thomas Episcopal Church in Mamaroneck, NY. Now retired from operatic performing, Ms. Berman is pursuing her passion for environmental stewardship as a sustainability project manager in the energy industry.
